The Sterling Award

Every aspect of the prestigious Mack E. Williams Memorial Foundation, Inc. Sterling Award is carefully thought out and crafted to commemorate a man of sterling character, for whom the award is named.  The award has a sterling silver medal encased in a Lucite pyramid, which like Mack E. Williams, points the way to God.  The Mack E. Williams Memorial Foundation presents this award to someone who has exemplified sterling character through distinguished public service, humanitarian effort or one who like Mack E. Williams, worked throughout their entire life, to become a high achiever or reach academic excellence.

The back of the medal is inscribed with the following quote from Mack E. Williams:

“Only when scholarship is coupled with genuine concern for others and an earnest desire to honor God with our abilities will we be truly wise and supremely useful.  I believe the good Lord blessed me his knowledge, understanding and wisdom so that I could be a help to others.”

New Covenant Christian Academy Co-founders Queintard and Stephanie DeGeneste had the distinct privilege and high honor to receive the Sterling Award at the 25th Annual Scholarship and Sterling Awards Luncheon on Sunday, September 28, 2008.

“Not unto us, O Lord, not unto us, But to Your name give glory, Because of Your mercy, Because of Your truth.”-Psalm 115:1
