Co-founders Are Honored at BACONJ’S 30th Anniversary Gala

NCCA Co-founders, Queintard and Stephanie DeGeneste, were the co-recipients of the Barbados-American Charitable Organization of New Jersey, Inc.’s prestigious Community Service Award. Miguel Edghill, president of BACONJ-an organization that focuses on providing financial assistance to those in need in the U.S., the Caribbean and indeed anywhere in the world, called Natasha Southerland to the podium to make the presentation. Ms. Southerland read the following inscription from the beautifully crafted award, “In recognition of your vision, dedication, and commitment to educating our children.” NCCA’s co-founders not only humbly received the great honor accorded to them, but they had the additional privilege of receiving a check in the amount of $2,000 to support the school’s library project. BACONJ is the same organization that sent a team of volunteers to NCCA on Labor Day weekend to paint classrooms, clean and organize storage areas, and help wherever else needed. To say that Queintard and Stephanie DeGeneste feel very privileged and very grateful that NCCA numbers among the organizations that the Barbados-American Charitable Organization of New Jersey, Inc. has helped in its distinguished 30 years of making a difference in the lives of others would definitely sum up their feelings.
